About the Site
This website has been written by a British-Indonesian couple. The emphasis of the website is on phrases and vocabulary, although from time to time we have added little extras - our experiences, notes on grammar and tips on language learning.
We have organised the site so that you can jump to different sections - you do not have to start at the beginning and work your way through. Inevitably this will lead to some overlap.
If you spot some errors, or have any suggestions, please contact us.
About Us
Siska was born and brought up in Balikpapan in Kalimantan. Her father, an oil worker was keen on Western culture - always wearing cowboy boots and jeans. When Siska was 19 she went to Surabaya in East Java to study Chemistry at Ubaya university. She later changed to law.
James started teaching English after university, first in Thailand and then, for three years, in KELT, Surabaya. (He still thinks it's the best school he ever taught in.) He returned to the UK to take his PGCE in further education and the Diploma in English Language Teaching. Since then he has become involved in search engine optimisation, and has also writes articles on a freelance basis - publications he has written for include The Peninsula, Qatar Today and Women Today.
James and Siska live in Qatar with their children.
