In Indonesia there is a huge range of transport, from plush limos to carts pulled by a man on a bike. We have travelled by horse and cart in Lombok, speed boat in Borneo and got our feet wet in Java when the floods came through the bottom of the taxi.
We do recommend avoiding the motorbike taxis if you can - we have lost too many friends to motorbike accidents to be keen on them!
